ID requirements

To create an account and sell to us, you must bring one valid form of photo ID and one proof of address.

If it has been a while since your last visit, please bring a proof of address to update our records.

Photo ID

Please bring one of the following forms of photographic ID.  The ID must be in date.

• Valid passport (signed)
• UK Photocard Driving License (full or provisional)
• Citizenship Card
• EU National Identity Card
• Any identification card with the PASS Logo

Proof of address

Please bring one of the following documents as proof of address:

• Utility bill (electricity, gas, Council Tax, water, cable, broadband, telephone, TV license etc.)
• Bank statement

This document must be an original document and needs to be dated within the last 90 days.  Mobile phone bills are not accepted.  Photocopies or screenshots are not accepted.  It must clearly show the date, your name and address.  We do not accept digital proof of address.

What do valuations consist of?

Valuations are performed on-site in front of you and explained whilst you wait.  We feel this provides a feeling of genuine transparency.  Most valuations may take 10-15 minutes, but we are able to dedicate hours, if required, for larger orders.

We have a separate room away from the tills which offers a private experience for those who need it.

In the past, acid was used to ascertain the purity of precious metals where no hallmark was apparent.  These days we use a Niton™ XL2 XRF x-ray florescence analyser which allows us to determine the purity without damaging your item.  Additionally, we have specialist equipment which helps us identify precious stones like diamonds and determine whether they are natural or lab grown.

After we’ve evaluated each item, separated any different purities and determined whether it’s resalable or scrap we will offer you a fully itemised quotation for your consideration with zero obligation to sell.  Even with the market changing daily, we understand that you may want to consider our offer before selling; that’s why all our offers are valid for 48 hours.
